Albizia ferruginea (Ferruginea albizia) is a tropical tree from West Africa. It is mainly grown for its timber crops (medium shelflife), The crop is harvested by total removing. It starts flowering after 3 - 6 years. The tree`s wood is called Ferruginea albizia wood and has a density of 600 - 700 kg/m³. After 28 years the tree can be totally removed as it reached its commercial and ecological goal. Albizia ferruginea has a lifespan of 80 years.
The tree is 39 meters tall. It is medium growing and tolerates not less light than full sun. Albizia ferruginea has a shallow root-system and forms symbiotic relations (endo-mycorrhiza high).
