Description and Uses

Aningeria adolfi-friederici (Aningeria) is a tropical tree from East Africa. The crop is harvested by total removing. It starts flowering after 9 - 11 years. The tree`s wood is called Aningeria and has a density of 0 - 0 kg/m³. After 70 years the tree can be totally removed as it reached its commercial and ecological goal. Aningeria adolfi-friederici has a lifespan of 150 years.


Environmental limitations

The tree is 50 meters tall. It is medium growing and tolerates not less light than partial shade. Aningeria adolfi-friederici has a shallow root-system and forms symbiotic relations (endo-mycorrhiza). It is not able to fix nitrogen.

Aningeria adolfi-friederici thrives in an altitude of 1500 to 2500 meters above sea-level (tropical). The minimum temperature is -1°C and optimally between 15 - 26°C. The optimal rainfall is 1550 mm/year. Without irrigation the annual rainfall should be between 600 - 1900 mm (L/m²). The optimal soil-pH is between 5.0 - 8.0 in a soil texture of loam.
