MIS (Management Information System)
A management Information System is a tool that is to set up and to manage a supply chain. Rozendale.com has the objective to create such a system. In 2019 it was designed partly. And in Februari and March 2020 the first parts will be tested during the Vietnam Project 2020

Although the MIS is not ready, but it works as follows: Any user at rozendale.com can be assiged to a usergroup that represents a function: Such as; input supplier, farmer, collection point, processor, trader, supply chain manager, auditor, etc. The user will get only relevant data that's needed to run the supply chain.
What kind of supply chains?This platform is focused on perennial crop production in particularly tropical countries.
How does it work?
It starts with a SCM (supply chain manager) that takes the initiative to set up or applies an existing supply chain. The first steps at nursery and farm level are uniform to all kind of crops. From post-harvesting onward the SCM will define the entire production workflow until the retailer or trader.

How traceability works?
One of the settings the SCM defines is if "Lot-quantity previous step" is smaller, equal/bigger, or a foreing step. If it's smaller than the link to the previous batch/es is a multiple value. An example is that after this step "dehusking" the product will be dried in a big silo. That means that the traceability of a hazard back to the farmer will be difficult or impossible. The following diagram shows looks complex, but it particularly shows how the link to the previous batch/es and next batch/es are created by the system:
When can the project start and how?
When the project starts I will write blogs about the progress. So far, my goal is to visit an area in Vietnam where they grow macadamia nuts. I red some articles about farmers are disappointing of the financial return of macadamia production that was promised. The goal of using this system expects to:
- Train farmers about cultivation via mail, website, or a facebook group
- Increase quality by frequent harvest and fast dehusking and drying processes.
- Create a traceability system
- Be able to certify end-products by external auditors of this system.
- Ability to make deals between retailers and processors, or in future even between processors and international markets.
Open windows for export-markets.
My cousin that does his own project in Vietnam exports every year sea-containers to the Netherlands from Vietnam. I know macadamias are profitable and there is a high demand worldwide. But for Europe food products requires high quality standards that require the GlobalGAP certificate and the customer's extra quality demands. Also food exports only work in large quantities and a high percentage will be paid to input-taxes and VAT.
